Federal Court of Australia | National Court Framework | Implementation of National Duty System
A key component of the Federal Court’s implementation of the National Court Framework (NCF) has been the review of the Court’s duty system is to ensure a nationally consistent system that provides timely and proactive responses to urgent duty matters, with a ‘direct to chambers’ approach.
The National Duty System commences on 1 February 2016. The key features of the system are:
1. Dedicated Commercial & Corporations NPA Duty Judge & General Duty Judge;
2. Direct-to-chambers approach which allows practitioners to liaise directly with the chambers of the Duty Judge about an urgent case; and
3. Specialist assistance for Self-represented litigants.
