The Legal Profession Board’s major function is to receive and investigate complaints about the conduct of legal practitioners. The Board has six members, two are nominated by the Society and each must be the holder of a local practising certificate.
The Board has prepared a Board Member Information Pack which can be found HERE. Practitioners considering lodging an expression of interest should read this document.
In addition to the desirable competencies, skills and attributes particularised in the Information Pack, the Society has identified the following desirable attributes:
- Considerable experience in private legal practice across a broad range of practice areas;
- Sound knowledge of the ethical duties of legal practitioners
The term of one of the Society’s nominees expires soon and expressions of interest are sought from suitably experienced practitioners interested in being nominated as a member of the Board.
Expressions close on 12 June 2018 and should be forwarded to Luke Rheinberger at the Society.
