Copyright Music use in Australian Law Firms

Music rights management organisation APRA AMCOS are about to launch a campaign to the legal sector for copyright music use. The campaign will assess whether Australian law firms are using copyright music and ensure licences are in place. Law firms are no different from other corporate workplaces where employees listen to music at their work space for pleasure. Music is also often a feature of corporate events, is almost always used in telephone on hold and in client reception areas. Many Australian law firms are already correctly licensed for their music use and this campaign aims to clear up the minority who are not. Licences for Music in the Workplace start at 97 cents per employee per year.
