Supreme Court of Tasmania – Symposium on Working with Interpreters

The Supreme Court of Tasmania will be hosting a symposium on Thursday 23 August 2018  (5-8 pm) to raise awareness of the Recommended National Standards on Working with Interpreters recently published by the Judicial Council on Cultural Diversity.

The symposium will provide a forum for presentations by expert guest speakers on the content of the National Standards, a panel discussion about the implementation of the standards and the challenges ahead, as well as a toolkit of practical information.  The symposium will bring together the judiciary, court staff, interpreters, the legal profession and related agencies for collaborative discussion.

The symposium will be held at the Supreme Court, Salamanca Place, Hobart and be accessible by videolink from Launceston Supreme Court and Burnie Supreme Court.

The symposium qualifies for 2 CPD points.
