Tasmanian Child Safety System: Research about Parents’ Experiences of Legal Processes

The Social Action and Research Centre at Anglicare Tasmania is undertaking research to explore the experiences parents have of legal and court processes associated with the Child Safety System and how they might be improved.

The research is supported by the Family Law Practitioners Association, the Legal Aid Commission, Department of Communities, Department of Justice, community services, parents and the Chief Magistrate.  The research is due to be completed by May 2020.

We are collating the experiences of legal professionals who have been involved in advising and representing parents in the child safety system in the last two years.  If you would like to be involved in the research please complete the survey monkey via the link below.  The deadline for completing the survey is Friday 18th October.

If you would like any further details about the research please contact Teresa Hinton, Senior Research and Policy Officer, Social Action and Research Centre at or 6213 3565.
