Subject: Coronavirus (COVID-19) Health Alert
As the outbreak of Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, it is important that we put in place measures to ensure that the risks to our members, staff, volunteers, contractors and visitors of contracting or transmitting the virus are carefully managed.
The Australian Government’s Department of Health (AGDH) has established a Coronavirus (COVID-19) Health Alert on the matter. See link below:
Until further notice, the following shall apply to all Law Society of Tasmania members, staff, volunteers, contractors plus visitors and non-members who attend our premises or events:
If you or a member of your household or staff have recently been in a country identified as a high risk country on the AGDH website or have been in close contact with someone who has a confirmed case of coronavirus please take the necessary precautions as set out under the “If you are at Risk” section and please DO NOT attend any of the Law Society’s offices, events, or facilities.
The Australian Government also considers a number of other countries to be at moderate risk for COVID-19. These are set out on the AGDH website.
If you are returning from any of these countries, you should follow the advice of the AGDH as set out on their website.
The Department of Health and Human Services has information specific to Tasmania, see: https://www.dhhs.tas.gov.au/publichealth/communicable_diseases_prevention_unit/infectious_diseases/coronavirus
We continue to monitor this situation and recommend you monitor the AGDH website to ensure you are aware of any other countries including neighboring countries that may be added. These arrangements will remain in place until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.
