Mr Griffiths commenced practice as Associate to the then senior puisne judge of the Supreme Court Sir George Crawford and was subsequently employed by Messrs Harold Bushby & Partners in Launceston.
That firm later became Messrs Bushby Taylor & Griffiths and in 1983 amalgamated with two other practices to become Archer Bushby.
Mr Griffiths was the joint managing partner of that firm until he left in 1988 to form the first Barristers Chambers in Launceston together with Mr B H Crawford.
Since election to the Tasmania Law Council Mr Griffiths has held a wide variety of positions with the Society including as Treasurer, Vice President and President.
Mr Griffiths continues to practice as a Barrister based in Launceston.
For some years Mr Griffiths was an officer in the Legal Corps of the Army Reserve and is a member or life member of a wide variety of clubs and associations.
