Jennifer O'Farrell, Barrister, Malthouse Chambers
About the Presenter:
Jennifer O'Farrell, Barrister, Malthouse Chambers. Ms O’Farrell joined the Tasmanian Bar in July 2023, after practising at Dobson Mitchell Allport and before that, at a national firm in Melbourne. She commenced her career as the Associate to Justice Middleton in the Federal Court of Australia. Jennifer has a broad litigation practice, including general commercial litigation, planning and administrative law and personal injury. She is on the Local Federal Court Users Group, and has recently been invited to join the Law Council of Australia's Class Actions committee, having been the junior barrister for the State on the Ashley Youth Detention Centre class action. She is also the Secretary and Treasurer of the Tasmanian Bar Council. Jennifer teaches the Civil Litigation course at the Tasmanian Legal Practice Course.
Kate Alcorso, Senior Associate, Shields Heritage
About the Presenter:
Ms Alcorso is a senior associate at Shields Heritage practicing in commercial and estate law, with a particular focus on business transactions. Prior to this Kate had practiced at Archer Bushby for almost 20 years. She is a fellow of The Tax Institute and Chair of the Tasmanian State Council. She has a strong commitment to governance and has served on multiple boards and committees within the Tasmanian for purpose sector. Kate is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and is a director on the For Purpose Board, and a part-time Board Chair for Girl Guides Australia.
