Francesca Beattie
Francesca Beattie graduated LLB (Hons) from the University of Tasmania in 1997 and was admitted to practice in 1999. She worked in private practice in Hobart before moving into in-house roles in risk management, litigation, and professional indemnity insurance in both the UK and Australia. During a parenting sabbatical from law, Francesca pursued entrepreneurial ventures in education and interactive media, founding Minimedia Productions Pty Ltd and earning the Australian Businesswomen’s Network’s Successful New Business Award in 2005.
In 2013, she joined the Law Society of Tasmania as Deputy Executive Director. Her role has spanned organisational operations, strategic counsel, stakeholder engagement, committee work, policy and law reform, and the development and oversight of the Society’s Continuing Professional Development program. She has a strong interest in digital transformation and leveraging IT solutions to enhance regulatory and membership services, as well as supporting competency, excellence, wellbeing, and prosperity in the business of law.
Francesca is also Chair of the Australian Law Management Group within the Law Council of Australia.
