SUBJECT: REMOVAL OF CERTIFICATES OF TITLE
Reminder
On and from 1 September 2026 certificates of title are removed from the land titling processes of the Land Titles Office (LTO).
For the avoidance of doubt, on and from 1 September 2026 not only will there be no paper certificates of title, there will also not be any substitutes for paper certificates of title (e.g. digital or electronic).
There will be no functionality to print or issue a certificate of title on and from 1 September 2026.
Published Information
The LTO is updating all website, Tasmanian Online Land Dealings (TOLD) information, and other published materials, however the LTO may or may not change all references prior to 1 September 2026. On and from 1 September 2026 any reference requiring lodgement of certificate(s) of title or production slip receipts should be ignored.
