Luke Brett

Luke Brett graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2011 and was admitted to practice in 2012. Luke began his career in private practice before working at Tasmania Legal Aid, specialising in criminal law. Luke commenced work at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in 2014, where he reached the role of Principal Crown Counsel, specialising in sexual assault and family violence cases. Luke left the DPP in 2025, commencing in private practice as a Hobart based sole practitioner, specialising in criminal law practice. Over the course of his career, he has acted as counsel in numerous criminal trials, sentencing hearings and appeals. He is highly regarded as an experienced and forthright advocate, who is known for his strong courtroom presence and commitment to achieving the best outcomes for his clients.
