Southern AGM Notice and Nomination Form 2025

The Annual General Meeting of the Southern Regional Committee of the Law Society of Tasmania will be held as follows:

Time: 4pm

Date: Wednesday, 1 October 2025

Place: 28 Murray Street, Hobart

The Business of the Meeting will be:

  1. Apologies
  2. Minutes of the last Annual General Meeting
  3. Election of councillors-elect
  4. Any other business properly brought forward

Call for nominations of candidates for election to council:

  1. Nominations are hereby called to fill four vacancies:
    • There are four vacancies for two-year terms on the Council [Ms Juanita O’Keefe, Mr Will Justo, Ms Amelia Higgs and Ms Amanda Thompson retire and are eligible for re-election if nominated].
  2. Nominations in writing must be received at the Law Society by 5.00 pm, Wednesday 10 September 2025.
  3. Candidates must be nominated and seconded by a full member and must consent to the nomination.
  4. No proxies will be permitted.
  5. In the event that more nominations are received than places available voting papers will be forwarded to all voting members on or about Monday, 15 September 2025.
  6. Voting will close at the Law Society’s office, 28 Murray Street, Hobart at noon, Friday 26 September 2025.
  7. Votes will be opened and counted at the Southern Regional Annual General Meeting to be held at 4pm on Wednesday, 1 October 2025.

Nominees can provide a shor resume of their background and experience. The resume will accompany the voting papers.
