Legal Profession Salary Survey Report – Tasmania Report
A salary survey was conducted by the Employment, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee of the Law Society of Tasmania for the financial year 2022-2023.
Survey Demographics
The survey received 354 responses. The respondents were distributed across various employment settings, including government, private practice, corporate/in-house, and community legal centres.
Employment Type Distribution
78% of respondents worked full-time, while 22% were part-time employees.
Salaries
Based on the data provided for the financial year 2022-2023, the average salary range for legal practitioners in Tasmania was $110,000 – $120,000, with a median range of $90,000 – $100,000. Sector-specific analysis revealed that corporate/in-house lawyers earn the highest salaries, followed by those in government, private practice, and community legal centres.
