Vanessa Fenton, Associate Director, Tasmania Legal Aid
About the Presenter:
Ms Vanessa Fenton is the Associate Director of Legal Practice at Tasmania Legal Aid, with a career spanning roles such as Crown Prosecutor, Senior Advisor to the WorkCover Board, Director at WorkSafe, and Registrar at the Mental Health Tribunal. A Major in the Australian Defence Force with 23 years as an Army Reserve Legal Officer, she is dedicated to social justice and helping vulnerable people. Passionate about managing people and continuous self-improvement, Vanessa is committed to developing excellent communication skills.
Monique Blackman, Grants Officer, Tasmania Legal Aid
About the Presenter:
Ms Monique Blackman, Grants Officer, Tasmania Legal Aid. Monique has worked at legal aid since 1992 and has held many roles within the organisation including as a family lawyer, duty solicitor, providing assistance through clinic sessions and phone advice and undertaking community legal education. Monique started working in the Grants section in 1999. She has held positions outside Tasmania Legal Aid including working for a number of private practises, the Hobart Community Legal Service and has been a lecturer at the University of Tasmania for over 25 years, teaching law subjects to the School of Business and Faulty of Law. She now works full time with TLA.
