CHANGES TO MEDIATION FEES
In exercise of their powers under the Supreme Court Civil Procedure Act 1932 the Rule Committee has approved, and the Judges have made, an amendment to Item 11, Part 1 of Schedule 1 of the Supreme Court (Fees) Rules 2017.
Item 11 has been amended by replacing the figure ‘483’ with the figure ‘1070’. This change came into effect on 13 August 2025, when it was published in the Tasmanian Government Gazette.
Matters ordered to be listed for mediation, or requests for mediations, made from the date of this notice will attract a fee of 1070 fee units.
In the 2025-26 financial year the value of a fee unit is $1.91. Accordingly, from the date of this notice the fee for a Court-appointed mediation will increase from $922.53 to $2,043.70.
