CIRCULAR TO PRACTITIONERS

PRESCRIBED RATES OF INTEREST FROM 1 JANUARY 2026
The prescribed rates of interest pursuant to r5A of the Supreme Court Rules 2000, applicable from 1 January 2026, are:
(1) For administration proceedings under Division 6 of Part 36 (r5A(1)) (for the 2026 calendar year) – 3.60%
(2) For pre-judgment interest pursuant to r5A(2) (for the period commencing 1 January 2026 and ending 30 June 2026) – 7.60%
(2A) For pre-judgment interest if allowed pursuant to r5A(2A) (for the period commencing 1 January 2026 and ending 30 June 2026) maximum – 7.60%
(3) For post-judgment interest pursuant to r5A(3) (for the period commencing 1 January 2026 and ending 30 June 2026) – 9.60%
