No. 6 of 2025 – Requests for Audio-Visual Links
Each judge will determine on a case-by-case basis whether legal practitioners, witnesses and others may participate in proceedings by audio-visual link or by telephone. Practitioners should not assume that an attendance by telephone or audio-visual link will be permitted.
Some practitioners or parties are making requests for telephone and audio-visual links very shortly before a court listing, and sometimes when Court is in session. This places Court staff under undue pressure to set up links.
Subject to any contrary direction by the relevant judge, requests for telephone or audio-visual links must be received by the registry or the judge’s associate at least two business days prior to the relevant appearance.
Practitioners should appear in person if they do not receive confirmation that their request for remote attendance has been granted.
