CRIMINAL CASE MANAGEMENT LIST DATES 2026 – UPDATED
This Circular supplements Circular 10 of 2025 by amending two committal dates in Annexure A for Launceston and Burnie. The dates provided in Annexure A apply to committals made to dates in 2026. There is no change to Annexure B.
As set out in Circular 10 of 2025, the Magistrates Court should commit matters to a date for a first appearance that is at least seven weeks after the date of committal however the date of the first appearance may be beyond 7 weeks if the Magistrate allows.
There will be no CCML between the end of the Eighth Sittings in 2025 and the First Sittings in 2026. To avoid too many matters being committed to the first CCML in 2026, from the end of October 2025 until 15 December 2025 the Magistrates Court will be asked to commit to a nominated date. The first appearance dates for committals during that period are set out in Annexure B. In 2026 a further series of dates will be provided for the period October – December 2026.
Hobart – Appearances by defendants on bail will be listed for 9:30am.
Launceston – CCML will be at 11am, usually from Court 2 by video link to Hobart.
Burnie – CCML will be at 9:30am, from Court 1 by video link to Hobart.
