The TLA Board has confirmed an increase of the hourly rate for legal practitioners by 2%, applied from 1 July 2025 across all areas of TLA practice and law programs.
Tasmania Legal Aid values and is grateful for the significant contribution private practitioners make to social justice by providing a wide range of legal services to Tasmanians experiencing disadvantage. Last financial year TLA paid $9.05M in grants of aid, an increase from $8.96M in the previous year.
The new rate applies to all new grants of aid and extensions made from 1 July 2025 and will be reflected in the Guidelines at this time.
