The TLA Board has confirmed an increase of the hourly rate for legal practitioners of 2%, applied from 1 July 2026 across all areas of TLA practice and law programs.
Tasmania Legal Aid values and is grateful for the significant contribution private practitioners make to social justice by providing a wide range of legal services to Tasmanians experiencing disadvantage.
The new rate applies to all new grants of aid and extensions made from 1 July 2026 and will be reflected in the Guidelines at this time.
